Jiyu works as an interactive ceramic sculptor. She was born in Korea and completed her ceramic bachelor's degree at Kookmin University (Korea, Seoul). She is an MFA candidate for SUNY New Paltz, Ceramics.

An creates work of art with technology. She is currently exploring how this work can impact viewers. How do viewers engage with abstract forms? What meanings can she create using clay material? These are the questions she asks as she is making work.

An has exhibited her work at the Moro Gallary 'Tuem(Between crack)' (March 2019), Jangdeok Gallery 'Fra, me' (January 2018) as solo exhibitions, and at Karkhana Art Space (February 2021), The 4th Annual Paper & Clay Juried Exhibition 2021 (February 2021), 120 Intercollegiate Art Regional Exhibition (March 2020), Fall Kill Clay Works (January 2020), Gallery KWCA (June 2017) as group exhibitions.
