Julia Justo

Dissolving Borders

Julia Justo was born to Argentinean parents of European and Indigenous descent, the self-described “Argentinean hybrid” was raised in La Plata. In 1999 she relocated to New York. The move had a profound impact on her when her sense of identity became one of increased complexity as she relocated to a land with a significantly different culture that the one she knew. Justo received a M.F.A. from La Plata National University. She has exhibited extensively in galleries and museums in the US and abroad and has been granted numerous awards and residencies.
