1. What do you look like in winter dress?
Snow on balsam boughs,
floating glitter by streetlight,
and fragrant woodsmoke?

And in spring regalia?
Forsythia blooms, 
ivy trailing up the door,
mowed grass and birdsong?

2. How do you embrace the handmade?
A long history
of sewn quilts and hand hewn beams,
stone paths for footprints?

3. How has time shaped you?
Peeling wallpaper,
breath on foggy window panes,
gathered dreams in dust?

Chantelle Flores (she/her) currently studies English and art history at the University of Maine, where she works as a Writing Center consultant. She has contributed short fiction to the Telling Room’s We Gen Z magazine and presented at the Plunkett Maine Poetry Festival. She resides in central Maine where her free time is spent with friends and family and engaging in music and the visual arts.
