Hector Ledesma was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on March 22, 1967. In the year 1989, while studying advertising, he became passionate about the world of fine arts. Towards the end of 1990, he became one hundred percent dedicated to painting. In the coming years he exhibited his work independently and in collectives and won a painting prize. In 1992 he moved to Europe and lived in Madrid. Marked by fantasy and Caribbean color, he discovered another pictorial language that he had to learn to be able to communicate himself. He moved to New York in 1997 and returned to the Dominican Republic the following year where he installed his workshop. There, from his everyday life, he discovered in his painting a new world. Since 2005 he has been residing between Boston, New York, and Santo Domingo.
